About blowing out computers

There was a post a week ago about blowing out and how. I always used canned air in the past. I take care of elderly people in the neighborhood, my family and friends and show them how and mine which is 5 computers.
Someone in the post mentioned I used Metro Data vac duster model ED500.
When i was buying canned air and getting ready for spring clean up and wanting a 4 can package it was like $20.00. Said Naa.......

Went to www.metrovacworld.com and found the model and started looking at feed back it was good but very loud. Had 6 attachments but worked well.
I checked for best price until blue in the face and it was Ebay. It was $44.00 and $8.00 shipping. Some places wanted almosted $80.00 for same. Thought it was worth mentioning. Im tired of buying these stupid cans. Just to note again: It only blows air.

My question would be whether it has enough oompf to blow out the narrow spaces in a heatsink or the fine layer you get on circuit boards and fans. DustBuster is good for that. I suppose you can keep a can of DustBuster around for just the stubborn jobs.

I bought my air compressor for about $100 which I can also use for other jobs like air tools, blowing down a workbench and pumping up car tyres. I still keep DustBuster handy for quickies to avoid dragging my air receiver around.

To be honest it looks like a "infomercial" item. The videos on site make me question more as they spend more time talking about how green it is than the actual item. The item itself sounds/looks more like a inflater I use for a air mattress which isn't really that powerful.

I use this which I got for $60 at Lowes 2 years ago.

Comes in handy for many things and comes with a whole range of tools. However I had to buy the Air Gun separate. It shoots out air almost painfully fast and I usually do a thorough clean every month on each system. 1 tank on just the GPU/CPU heatsink (full blast) then I let it build back up and hit the rest of the system @ medium. Happy to say that it does the job perfectly :P I do this outside just to get the dust outta my room.

Id say its about twice as powerful as can of air and for myself it has many other uses. However it does a crappy job airing a tire, it just doesn't have the power in it.

Your right Twist86. Its not for tires. It has a blast of air and lots of useful attachments. I have a compressor in the garage. its for tools and such. I was mentioning it worked well for stupid small items like the computer. Thats it.
On the lighter side im not trying to sell anybody on it. Im just saying it worked well for this need.

I was just saying i liked it and worked well with a blast, BUT noisy. I will deal with it.

It is a blower. twice the power of canned air.
Just loud. Bunch of small attachments also.
