Just built a new system with an Asus A8V Deluxe motherboard with a AMD 3500+ with the built in Marvell gigabit ethernet controller. For some reason we can't get on internet on again after a horrible installation of GoBack. When I installed Marvell's VCT (Virtual Cable Tester) and ran it, it comes up with an error message of pairs 1-8 with a "Impedance mismatch."
My question is, is this a hardware problem or is something wrong with a connection somewhere? I changed the cable to a brand new one and it still has the same error message. Also, the gigabit ehternet controller is detected on the system in the network connections but says that it is disabled and I can't turn it on (has a small red x in the corner of the icon). And yes I have turned on the onboard LAN controller in BIOS. Would enabling the promise have anything to do with this? Please help!
Thanks in advance for any suggestions
