I Aint Got A Clue!

Im Finking Of Getting It From Ebay But:

I Dont Know What To Type
I Dont Even Know What It Looks Like
I Dont Know What Ill Be Changing
Will I Be Taking Something Out And Back In?

Can Someone Give Me A Brief Descrpition On These Things And If Possible What I Can Type In On Ebay?

help 4 ya

first you should go on ebay and type processor in the search then on the left of the page go to destop components then if you go through the list you will see intel xeon processors which are 3ghz with 1 MB cache which is very good and these go for around £80. to upgrade you will need to take your old processor out and put the new one in. I am not 100% about putting a new processor in , it might need soldering , but by the looks of it from ones i have seen they look like they just push in for an idea of waht to buy on ebay here is a link http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=51055&item=6752331860&rd=1
this will give you an idea of what they look like and a price
i would reccomend you get it put in by a pro and this should only cost around £20 but the processor should come with instructions about how to fit it ne way

hope this helped and is a long first post for me lol :)

Dude, if you don't know what you're talking about, don't post :P

@manni
We need your parts (current) to get you a new processor, which is what you need. And no, it will not need soldering. Ebay is also not a good place to get it....go to newegg.com or zipzoomfly.com. Install it yourself, too. It ain't that hard, just pull out the old one, and put the new one in. Make sure you get a retail processor, though.

^actually ebay isn't that bad to get comp parts... u can sometimes find a decent deal. recently an auction of two brand new eVGA 6800GT pci-e cards eneded at 600USD or something... but just make sure u get the parts from a seller with good reputation...

wheeee ZZf is really starting to fly (not sure if it was cause of me) or because of me just not noticing it before. But anyway, yeah we need your current parts to see what type of CPU you want. I'm guessing it's gonna be an S478 cause the 775 wasn't made in 2.5Ghz (I think). If anything you're gonna wanna buy the CPU from like bobo said, Newegg, or my favorite; ZZF. Newegg is cheap, but makes you pay for shipping, ZZF is a little more expensive, but has free shipping.

Ya, I know, I bought a 256 PC3200 for $60 about 5 months ago, now I could get the same thing for $20 :mad:
