But my dad dosnt, can we still share files? And will i be able to connect to his internet connection if he has xp?

I know you can share files and printers if one PC has XP, and the other has Vista, since I did it before. I'm not sure about internet sharing, but I imagine you can.

I meen my dad is the central comp. Will i be able to connect to the linksys connection if he has a xp, not vista?
 
If all you want to do is connect to the router and use the internet, then it doesnt matter what OS the other computers are using.

But yes, you should be able to share files using the linksys router if he has XP and you have Vista.
 
you dont need to do anything when you access his computer but for him to access your share folders that you made you have to specified either everyone or his user id when you made that folder. the only exception is the public folder.
