On the september 17th, I ordered a computer from IBUYPOWER with the intention of getting it in 5-10 buisness days. It's now the 4th and since I've ordered it I've been different stories about the computer and today I figure out it's going to be ANOTHER 5-10 buisness days. And knowing them, thats another 2 weeks (buisness days are mon-fri). Here are the stories I'm being told. According to their status update page this is what's going on.

10/4/2007 4:25:02 PM Processing Materials required gathered. Proceeding to assembly.
9/19/2007 1:20:00 PM Processing Credit Card Approved
9/18/2007 9:43:00 AM Processing Order Received/Processing
9/17/2007 10:27:35 PM Submitted Order Submitted by Customer

and that they are running late so it would be another 5-10 buisness days. Now, on the other hand, they send me an email exactly a week ago saying that the computer was currently already in the burn-in process and it would be 4-6 buisness days starting last friday.

"Thanks again for your order.

Your order is in burn-in test now.

It will take another 4-6 business days to finish the system before we can ship it out.

We’ll send you an email with the tracking number as soon as it was shipped.

Please feel free to email or call me if there’s any more question."

I'm very, very angry. I spent a thousand dollars on this computer and I'm being lied to and tossed around. I'm on the verge of driving an hour up north to china town and beating the shit out of all of them. I'm only 16, so a thousand dollars isn't a common thing for me.

What do you think I should do? Call them back tomorrow and talk more into detail, or should I just wait another 2 ****ing weeks. I'm going with calling them back tomorrow, but I'd like some more opinions.

I've dealt with iBuyPower on more than one occasion and they have ALWAYS shipped on time. Your description is hard to understand, but what I got from it is that your computer is on the 4th business day and that its on the burn in test, and that it will ship in 4-6 business days.... 4+6=10..... I see no problem dude.....

It should ship either at the end of this week or early next week.

I would wait another week and call them... i know how you feel, like the saying "if you want it done right, do it yourself". I hope it doesn't take too much longer.. I would have expected a month to the begin with, so to me they are going fairly fast lol.

No, I ordered it on september 17th. That's a monday, so excluding it it would go. Tues-Wed-Thu-Fri-Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs-Fri-Mon-Tues-Wed-Thurs. That's 13 buisness days so far. On September 27th, they emailed me saying the computer was in the burn in process and it would be another 4-6 buisness days. A week later, today, they are saying they just got the materials for building it and are about to start building the computer. How did they burn-in my non existant computer? Or Why are they building another computer?

wait how would that let them burn it in though? you burn in the computer that HE WILL GET not anything else, i dont understand this backorder business is that where the manufacturer asks for parts back?

That company has a bad record with the BBB. You really should have done some research on them before buying from them.

The BBB lists 197 complaints about them.

Keep in mind that a lot of the people who had good experience with them don't report back to websites such as that. Usually the people who have had bad experiences want to tell as many websites as possible how much the company sucks.

I'm basing this on my experiences with them, because I've bough two computers from them and both showed up on time and worked flawlessly.

Well, I sent them an email and today they made some reallly good progress!

They weren't lying about being a bit behind. Here is the new updates:
10/5/2007 6:40:33 PM Processing Burn-In test passed. Ready to ship.
10/5/2007 5:58:15 PM Processing IQC completed. Pass to Burn-In Test.
10/5/2007 3:07:26 PM Processing Assembly completed. Proceeding to QC.
10/4/2007 4:25:02 PM Processing Materials required gathered. Proceeding to assembly.
