Hello all.

As this thread's subject states, I am a Junior and an IB (International Baccalaureate) school in Houston, Texas, and am taking Computer Programming as a Higher Level subject my Senior year. This time of the year, we start planning our Dossiers, or basically a Computer Programming project that lasts from the end of our Junior year to the end of our Senior year, so yes it is a HUGE project where each student has to basically create his own JAVA Program, and I wanted to make a survey to gather more information about if the program I want to create would be useful to other people, and if so, what kind of things should I add to my program to make it better.

Here is what my program will be about:
It would basically be a program that stores information about every CD you insert in your computer, from a brief description, to the CD key, etc etc. I wanted to make this program initially for me, because I do have over three to four hundred CDs, and I lose track of either where I put them, or even if I actually have the CD in the first place. Each time i would insert a CD in my computer, it would automatically grab the name of the CD and some kind of Description of it. Additional information can be added manually by the user. I would be able to search for the Specific CD through either a search box or a filter to find the CD I was looking for using the program. And when I find it, and double click on the CD's name, and it would show me the CD's key if it required one, instead of trying to find the CD key in my old dusty notebook. I would be able to add information such as where the CD is located like I could write "In my blue CD case" or something, to help me find a CD that I need but havnt used for a year or two.

Example:

A few months back, I had some friends over, and they all had Diablo II installed on their laptops, and I did not have mind installed on my desktop. It literally took me and my friends Two Hours to find the CD, and another hour to find the CD Key...

Had I had this program, I would have:
1) Opened up the program
2) Searched Diablo II
3)Gone to the "Location" sub-section of the Diablo II Folder
4) Read that it was located in my old black CD case (I would have previously manually written this in the "location" section of my program
5)Taken note of the CD key, also written in the "CD KEY" section of the Diablo II folder in my program
6) Gone to get the CD
7)) Done!

So that was briefly what my program should do.

I really need some participation on this survey, because it is a requirement for this project, and because it will help me decide what I should and should not have in my program.

Thanks.
