I want to upload 10 gigabyte of music

I am a music agent and need to share 10 gigabyte of music with my clients. I couldn't attach it to emailm, or could it be done?

What are some of my options for doing that?

If I have to pay $50 a month, I would be willing, but if there is a better way, please let me know.

Thanks in advance...

James

IF the copyright issues were taken care of on another level... AND this was legal...

1. No you should not email 10gb of music. most emails only go up to 3gb.
It would still take forever to download it.

2. You may want to run an FTP. It is like a shared folder over the internet, where you select what you want and download it.

3. You could send them a few cd's or 2 dvd's

4. you could try with high compression (winrar/winzip) to see how small you could get these 10 gb of music to be.

I don't wish to get into this too much because it COULD be illegal(as I don't know where the music's coming from) But for $50, you could probably find some host where you could upload your music and just have basic directory browsing.

Don't worry about legality -

The music is our performance of artists I represent - so no issues with legality.

Which upload sight is a good deal?

I want to be able to download these wav. music files, once I upload them.

It would probably be best to rent your own server or buy one and host it yourself, then you would get full control over everything. If you were to buy one yourself and maintain it you would also find it far quicker to transfer all the music over to it

Although http://www.megaupload.com/ and http://rapidshare.de/ are well known file hosts.

Have you ever considered bittorrent, i am sure with most bittorrent clients you can create your own torrents, although by doing this for each individual track would take a long long time

Edit: I missed the other posts, so not sure if that will be any help to you

Thank you so much for Bittorrent!

Just what I need !
Do my clients have to download it too, to use it?
Is it difficult ?

Bless you for that suggestion - hard to describe just how much a good advice like that is worth to someone like me, who is a rooky in computers - a life saver.

We are a non-profit organization benefitting the hungry children, so we are trying to save $ as much as possible, and your suggestion have saved us thousands in the next few years.

sorry, but i don't know much about creating torrents, although i know you can make them and you need a client, such as azeurus. I would reccomend googling for some tutorials, as this is something i have never needed to do before

But remember you will need your computer to be switched on and connected to the web 24/7 therefore it may be a better and easier option to setup an FTP server and allow your clients to connect to this, as it would be easier, more time efficient and would cost no more money.

Hope this helps you, and good luck raising the money

Lee :D

Edit: http://www.paulstamatiou.com/2006/01/04/how-to-make-a-torrent-with-azureus/ that links shows you how to create a torrent, and good luck again!
