I want a camera

I have never owned a digital camera. I need some advice on which to buy. I would like to take small videos with it. Should I get it off the internet or in store? Know of any good deals? I want to spend a maximum of $300 plus tax Canadian. I think that is about $200 plus tax American.

Thanks in advance,
Colin.

how many mega pixel? is zooming important for you?

Zoom is not important and I don't know about the mega pixels. And is it the more mega pixels, the better quality?
Edit- I would like the camera to have very litttle delay because I will take pictures of skiing and biking.

often people thinks that if a camera has more pixels is better camera.
mega pixel is important if you want to print you photos on large papers or for example photographers have to have more mega pixel because when they edit pictures the have to zoom sometimes, and then photographers often print their photos. i cant write anymore i have to go, tomorrow i will post the link of the cameras.

mega pixels do help the quality of your pic but thats not the only thing...i would say prolly 5-7MP would be fine for you....also i would check into Fuji's newer lines they have a new feature they showed first about a year ago at PMA(photo marketing association) at the end of February, it is a feature that allows the camera to take a pic of something moving very fast and get a very good shot...i personally tested it at their display and it worked very well!
