I put in my ethernet connecter and computer wont work...

My problem is I just got a computer and it allready had a wireless connecter in it, but I dont yet have wireless. I tried to install my ethernet card and the computer wont turn on correctly... I unplug it and it is perfectly fine. Could my ehternet card be bad?

The computer in which I refer is the gateway in my sig.

Try a different slot, if that dont work, try a different ethernet card.

Yeah, I would guess that the card is defective, but try switching the port, couldn't hurt...

I did try different ports, so I guess I gotta spend some money on a new card..

I took it off an older computer of mine that doesnt really have all its parts, so I kinda cant.
