OK guys, I know this can be done because I have done it before but with a little different hardware. Can someone please draw me a diagram that an idiot could follow, LOL? I want to play dvd's in my stand alone dvd player, watch it on my tv, and get the surround sound from my 5.1 system that is hooked up to my computer. Now, here is the fly in the ointment I think: My TV only has a cable connection. No video out, no "S" cable connection, no coax connection. Here is what I have: 7.1 M-Audio Revolution sound card, Pioneer dvd player, Creative DDTS-100 decoder, a Phillips RF modulator which was used the last time I did this but back then I was using a cable box which I'm not using anymore. Alright, let me see what you guys think.

You may be able to bypass the TV for the sound. Look at the DVD player, and see if you can take the sound from it, and direct it to the PC.

I guess I need to go from the "line in" on the sound card to the "audio out" on the back of the dvd. I wonder if that would do it??

I got it done. I had to take my two extra audio/video cables from the decoder to the dvd player and that did it. Don't want to ever have to do
it again. Jayo, that's what made this such a pain, nothing on the tv except for the cable plug in.
