I need amazing speakers

I mean..amazing! I was at best buy playing with the bose companion speakers. HOLY CRAP...These thing sound like theatre audio. I want them pretty bad, though I'm skeptical about it only being a 2.1 system. These are $400, so I'm looking at that price range (less doesn't hurt). Something that will give me great sound and has good bass.
 
Logitech Z-5500 5.1 system. It's got a massive sub and has great sound quality.
 
Audioengine A2 and A5s are amazing 2.0 speakers. M-Audio BXa 7 are also nice too. DO NOT buy Bose. They are incredibly overpriced and are completely avoided by audio enthusiasts.
 
make your own system using stuff from neweggs home theater section
logitech and m audio are okay but if you make your own system its going to sound 100 time better

Piecing together your own system is good, but then he'll need to get both receivers and speakers. And newegg is one of the last places you want to look for speakers. You'll want to go to a professional audio store if you're planning to spend that kind of money.
