I hear my computer thinking and doing things!

Okay.. so recently I can hear sounds out of my speakers/headphones when I click on things and minimize bars and what not. Yet I have all sound settings off for that and it's like I can hear the harddrive accessing information or something. Could it be my motherboard going bad, HD going bad, etc...

It's likely that the soundcard is receiving interference from these devices... Strange that it just started doing it though - have you recently removed/installed any hardware? Or fooled around with the sound driver or device settings?

The speakers could be receiving interference from any number of wireless devices too - namely cell phones - have you recently setup anything in the house near the computer that might be sending/receiving signals?

Also, it never hurts to clean the speaker/headphone jack and connections - even the soundcard if it isn't on-board - actually, I would give the whole computer a good cleaning (I use a vacuum w/ an extension hose or canned air if you have it). Clean all ports w/ a rag/q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Then see if you still get the racket.

:D

Sounds psykological if i'm going to judge the title of this thread lol..

over to the serrious part:

In your bios, you can check several settings to remove interferences from other devices.. i dont know your bios though. I have mine turned off becouse i dont have any probs with that.. Just check around in your bios
