i have r.r. no modem but ethernet and dont know what im doing...

i have no idea what anything is on this part of a computer.

i have roadrunner now. i have a wireless linksys, (sp?)

i ripped open my dell and saw some card connected to my blue ethernet cord.
what is that card and do i need one in my new build?
im assuming its some kind of internet card but its not a modem cause we have high speed...

help me out real wuick on identifing what that is....

That is your Network Interface Card. Most new motherboards have them built in.
