Well, if you had a sound card with a definable EQ that would do wonders. My realtek on board has this and it helps sooooooo much. Also, the placement of the sub will hinder it a little if not placed in a good spot. Usually corners work best because you get +3db (give or take) from each wall it's next to, but dont sit it touching the walls, give it some breathing room to resonate properly. Hope this helps
