I got a new camera :D

Can you swap lenses and such for it, or is it fixed? That's a nice looking camera, althought I know next to nothing about it yet lol.

It's not an SLR so you can't swap lenses, but you can add some to it. It comes with a lens hood(to help with glare) and the hood can be removed so you have threads for 72mm lenses.

This new one has 12x zoom, a higher quality lens, a higher quality CCD, image stabilizers, longer battery life, and over all better picture quality. It also has a flash shoe and preforms better indoors.

yeah the kodak-don't worry. Your new camera looks nice though. Looks like the other 3 models I got from Panasonic that broke.

kidding. I had the kodak and it broke from extreme droppage.

I sell those panasonics where i work, they are really good! image stabilisation works a treat and 12x optical zoom compared to the 3x on the kodak will make a big difference.. Good buy!

Damnit don't do that! :P I will stay my Kodak has been good. It's been really my first camera I actually dropped and it's been pretty good. Worst that happened is the battery cover cracked, but dad had a spare one and we just replaced it...

Jesse1984 - I've never actually used one of these(hard to find locally!) but every sample image I've found and review I've found has been awsome. At one point I purchased a Cannon S2-IS, but I returned it within a week. I was very unhappy with it's quality, and espcially when I compared the sample image quality to this Panasonic.

Anyway, I'll post something when I get it :D

Looks good.

And you got that pic from dpreview? Looks like you know where to find your information.. hehe ;)

Anyways, remember that all those pretty pictures that you saw and everything. That's the photographer, and a little of the camera. If you don't know how to use it properly... it's probably not better than that 5mp.

Just a thought. Well, take some pictures and then upload them to here:

Yeah, a camera's only as good as it's photographer, but I think I got that little Kodak pushed to it's limits :P But the Panasonic definetly is higher quality. Steve's Digicam's has identical pictures posted using both of my camera's, and it's obvious the Panasonic does better. Even compared to some of the high-end Kodak camera's, there's really no comparison in quality...

Anyway, I'll be toying with it as soon as I get it...and the battery charges(darn these propriatary batteries! Why can't it use AAs :P)

It's on the lens, probably optical. My camera's only 3X optical, 4x digital, so a total of 12X. But in the latter end the quality is grainy/cloudy...still not bad for a digicam though. I need a DSLR, i could care less about print quality since I almost never put em' on paper.

Sorry I missed this earlier. It's 12x OPTICAL zoom, F2.8 thoughout the whole zoom too.

I got the camera yesterday afternoon and I'm very pleased with it :) It's done much better than the Cannon S2IS I got a few months ago for $200 more, then returned :P

I'm still messing with the settings and all(there's so much manual control over this thing  ) but here's a sample pic I took earlier. Lots of people complained about how noisy the pics were indoors, but I see a HUGE improvement over my previous camera. And if you compare this one to other similar cameras, it's almost always got less noise...
