I dont know how to network my PC's

I have a computer in my room and another PC in the room next to across from mine. I'm going to get Adelphia High Speed Internet and I bought a Motorola SB5100 modem so I wouldnt have to lease one from Adelphia. The problem is I dont know how I'm going to get both my PC's connected to the service. Can anyone help me by telling me what I need, how to connect, and if I can have both the computers on the Internet at the same time? Also I'm going to get Xbox Live for my kids and how would I get that connected? Please help.

All you need a is a router, wired or wireless (wireless would require wireless cards for all your pc's). Plug the modem into the router and configure your router. When thats configured, just plug in your computers, and xbox, into the router, everything should work.
