Hi,
I can't get my sound to work on my computer. I have all of the up to date drivers installed, and they are working properly. My speakers work just fine with other computers, and the sound is turned all of the way up an not muted. I have tried using a pci sound card, and turned off the onboard audio in bios that didn't work. I have tried reinstalling windows that didn't do anything. I have a FIC K8MC51G motherboard with onboard audio. it is using ac97 audio driver. My computer will play music but i cannot get any output sound. I don't know if something with my motherboard can be causing this or what. I am all out of ideas, so any suggestions would be helpful thanks.

Has the sound ever worked? Is this a new build? If you're using a front audio connection, confirm it's connected correctly to the board. If certain pins aren't jumped correctly (with or without the cable connected) you won't get audio.

I bought it a few days ago off of someone on craigslist, since I have had it the sound has never worked. It has front audio and it is connected, do you know what pins need to be jumped without it plugged in so i can give that a try?

The must be something wrong with my front audio cable i jumped it on my motherboard and everything works fine now thanks.
