hi all, i am building my first PC as we speak and its been a rough road so far, its been about 3 days since i got my PC in and i've spent at least six hours a day on it. (i know im dumb) I finally got everything to work on it except one thing and ive spent about 4 hours on it so far.

Before i was able to go into the Bios and start tweaking things around, it asked me into insert Disk (A) or something and i was guessing they meant that they culdnt find the cd drive. i then realized it had no power (even though it was plugged in and everything. I turned off the PC fiddled with the cd drive, and then booted it back up...............................then, all hell broke loose...demons came out of the ground and the devil laughed in my face.

Nothing showed up on the screen, everything works and all the fans run and i can open and close the cd drive along with hearing the hard drive....but now, i no longer hear that single beep coming from my computer (telling me that it made a quick check on my power suppy, MOBO, graphics card, memory, hard drive, cd drive and they are all a-ok) so im thinking something must have happened to my graphics card.

any suggestion will do, i feel like i have tried everything and i know the answer is probably very simple, but i just cant think it up...so PLEASE help

thank you all for any of your help

Try reseating the graphics card and make sure you have the proper power supplied to the video card. If there is a 4-pin connector on the motherboard make sure it has a 4-pin from the PSU plugged into it.

aha, that was the first thing i did, i took out and put back in the grphx card 3 times and the motherboard is fully powered

and i just want to remind you that it did work before and i dont think i did anything before it sopped working, so i should have it plugged in fine

I had this same problem with my computer and I'm trying to remember what I did........ Do you have another video card that you can try?

i looked through all of the computers im allowed to and no...all of the others are AGP and on board

alot of people said that they replaced the battery on the mobo and it fixed the problem, otherwise my mobo or grphx card might be fried :(

thnx for helpn me out bro, i have gone through so muhc shit for this...a total of 6 hours of driving back and forth from my house to fries over and over again

yes, everything is running (from what i can tell) its kinda like when you're working on your pc and you jsut turn off your screen
