Hi i am planning on setting up a server on my pc but my pc connects through another computer through a network to the internet. I am running Windows XP Professional and the 'internet pc' has Windows 98 SE. How can i set it up so that my PC will work as an internet server and been seen by others??

Im installing an Apache 2.0.54 HTTP server and using dreamweaver to create a web site.

Thanks

Andy

Double posting is enough, But triple posting, Please don't do this it makes us not want to help you. Just stick to one thread in the future.

i have to say i personally have never done it that way, i have alway used a router and just connected all my comps to that. This way i can just hook up web server box - and set up the router to forward port 80 to that machines internal ip address. Then just run the apache sever service and your good. Any one connecting through a browser out in the world will connect to you external ip address (i assume via a registered domain name if not then look at www.dyndns.org), the browsers will connect to your router at port 80 which will then forward onto you web server.
