hp pavilion help needed drivers

I have an hp pavilion a824n. It says 530j for the intel pentium processor. it was bought in 2005 at best buy and we never got an xp cd with it. It has a lightscribe dvd burner and a cd rom. it also has an f1503 flatscreen monitor. XP crashed recently and I had no disc so I installed windows 2000 on it in a reformat. I liked 2000 better anyways it seemed more stable

I got it up and going but I haven't got a clue what all drivers i need to reinstall. I cannot watch a movie on intervideo cause it says I got no video codec. I downloaded cole2k media last night but it still says the device (codec) is not working. I also don't have any sound from my speakers. If i go to audio and hardware and device manager in control panel I see all kinds of codecs installed like legacy, divx and a bunch of others. It says they are all working properly but the system seems so generic compared to when we got it.

Can someone please tell me what all drivers I need to get to get the dvd burning caopabilites, video and audio capabilities and any other unseen problems yet to be discovered back up and running like this puter was when we bought it.

It took me over an hour to find the monitor driver from intel to get our color and graphics back to normal. I have since the reformat installed all the microsoft updates including service pack4 and and upgraded to internet exoplorer 6. I JUST WISH HPS WEBSITE WOULD GIVE A LIST OF DOWNLOADS FOR EVERY DRIVER NEEDED FOR A SITUATION LIKE THIS THEIR WEBSITE FRUSTRATES ME.

I do not know what sound card I have. On the front of the puter it says intel graphics media accelerator graphics card. The sound and video, I havce no idea.

As I type this I am downloading an audio codec from a freeware site. It is a realtec download. Someone please help. Links for any and all drivers needed to make use of this puters capabilites would sure be appreciated. Cory
