i'm tryin to network two computers
one xp the other win me

i've bought the router, and have got one lan cable going to each computer
The internet works on the first comp running on xp but how do i connect the computer 2 on me to the internet?
the ics thing is really confusing why do i need two nics?

You have a router... You have the cable to go from your your router to your computer. You need the NIC (ethernet card) to plug the cable into the back of your computer. Then just do the network setup wizard, and set it up..
 
You just plug it in to the router... and it is shared... If you have one computer plugged into the router then the other should work...

i just installed xp on the other comp which had win me and now the lan and the internet sharing works fine
