what sort of gaming place lol? Internet cafe, game development, retailer...?

Depends where you want to work. EB games? No hygiene and a GED is all that is required. Valve or another development company? Loads of degrees and references.

gaming business

There are lots of gaming companies. And if you really want to be part of a gaming business or company, you must be knowledgeable enough, it can be on how to develop a game or designing a game, if you are great in animation, in cognition and gaming or in putting music in it. If you are really very much into gaming, you can enroll in school, there are gaming related courses. Actually, there are colleges that offer classes including Animation I, Cognition & Gaming, Computer Music, game analysis and design and many other courses.

That's a pretty broad question. What exactly do you want to do with gaming? Design characters, storylines, etc... 3D animation, Metaverse Applications, game programming.

Or do you just want to graduate high school and become a 3rd-shift janitor at Blizzard or something?

As far as getting employed in the first place, I believe it would be quite difficult to find a job with any computer gaming company if you do not have a decent education (i.e. 4-year degree in a related field, 2 year degree in a related field + certifications).

wait wai wait....
this is personal kinda but im in a upset mood so i dont care, but, if im finished like, 9th grade whit simplyfied studying will it be enough?

If you want to be a professional gamer or work behind the counter in a games store, then should be fine.

You want to actually be up there writing, designing and programming games, you will need more than that

Fairly.

You will have to be very good at a certain game for one. Then you will have to be part of a decent clan, then they will have to be noticed, unless you are VERY lucky and got chosen by an already established clan. You will have to be sponsored and work your way up...

But even then, you will have to be in the bigger tournaments to actually make anything from it.

Imagine a professional sportsperson, because that is what gaming is, it is eSports. It is that hard to do it

no not at all. The majority just do it for fun or for the odd match. I am in a clan and we don't have rose coloured glasses thinking we are going to be going to tournaments and all sorts. We do have matches and we do play together, but it isn't like we play for gain, it is just a game, just for fun

sort of.

If you are serious about wanting to work in the games industry, it wouldn't be a drag and a chore to learn about it.

I want to be an engineer. I am honestly sick of education, however I want it more than I have wanted anything (but one thing) in my life, and the thought of doing what I have to do, which is going to university excites me. I want the challenge, I want to learn how it all works and get myself into a possition where I can in 5 years time be working on cars, or buildings, or the absolute perfect thing would be to work on jet engines. They are the most amazing things to me and I want it more than I can explain, and yes, it is hard work, but I am happy to put it in.

I used to think I wanted to work with computers, building and repairing them, but the thought of setting up shop, getting experience before hand, doing it all just made me depressed. It is a hobby, and I love doing it, but I don't want it to be what I do if you get me.

If the thought of going through all of it to get what you want doesn't sound right to you, I'm sorry to say it probably isn't the path you ought to take, because it will just be more of the same work

teach yourself how to program then ;) that is all games are, just lines of code and models

I've been making games for three some years now independently with two of my best friends. In those three years the most attention we ever gathered at one point made out stuff worth $1,500. Now it's hardly $500 and we are getting no attention from anyone. It is a VERY hard field to get into and to become successful at.

Like everyone else in this topic have said, there are many different areas to go into. If you want to work on games, my suggestion is to join a team who is making a mod for a game already out or to go to LAN parties so that you may make friends with other games who might be in good clans.
