how to transfer files from computer to computer?

I just bought a new desktop and am using a router and a usb adapter to connect them to the internet.
may I know how do we share files from computer to computer?
Thx a lot.
 
plug them into the router, right click on a folder or hd and enable sharing. Go into network neghborhood to view the shared computer/folders.
 
yeah same workgroup is important, but you can also click on start then "search" and search for computers at your lan, then just start sharing.
