How to setup a network, two builings side by side

My church needs a network setup. They are on dial-up right now but are switching to DSL. They have the main church with the office in it and then about 50 ft away they have the Annex with the teen center in it.

What would be the best way to network these two building together so both can share the DSL. There will be 1 computer in the Annex and 2 in the church.

I have setup hard wired home networks before but am unsure about hooking up the 2 buildings.

Any help would be great.

thanks

Bill

wireless is out. To mush interferance inside the church. I tried that already to network the two inside. the main church.

You'll probably be able to get by with a 100 ft ethernet cable (or whatever length will span the buildings) and a couple shorter cables, and a 4 port router. You could also buy a spool of cable (CAT5, CAT5e, or CAT6) and connectors and make your own cables. For wiring this guide is pretty good: http://www.derose.net/steve/guides/wiring/

noooo!!!!! WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT RUN A CAT5 CABLE OUTSIDE!!!! I have been through 3 years of networking training and that is a big no no. The copper wires can conduct the difference in potential between the two buildings, frying network equipment and computers. Also even though it's insulated the jacket is so thin it is very attractive to lightning. The only safe way to get a signal between buildings is either wireless or fiber optic cable, which is VERY expensive. If there is no outside involved then go with what yeti said. But do not run cat5 cable outside for your own safety and the safety of your equipment.
