how to make a home server with old computer?

i want to make a home server where i can store backups and where me and friends can login and store stuff for internet. i was recomended to use Quick N' Easy FTP at http://www.pablosoftwaresolutions.com/html/quick__n_easy_ftp_server_lite.html
is it any good?

for wut ur doing its ok...you could use 2003 server edition also...bolth are ok.
