I have a whole bunch I am talking thousand dollars worth of car audio equipment but no car, so I was wondering if there is a way to hook it up in the house through my computer? Would this be a hard/expensive job can anyone tell me what I would need in order to do this? The system consist's of two amps one for the sub and one for the sattelites, a alpine headunit. The amps are audiobahn the speaker's are boston acoustic, the sub's are JL audio.

You want to hook up amps, subs, speakers to your computer right?

It's not that hard, i can plug my PDA into a car stereo system with a simple adapter cable.

You'll probably need a few adapters...someone with more Audiobahn knowledge can tell you what kinds you will need. I believe there are different rated cables and you need to get a certain type depending on how many watts you are runnign and all that. All i know is it can be done very easily.

could you use the digital output from your mobo sound or your soundcard?
not familiar with car speakers hook ups

Try goin to Radio Shack and ask them if they know what kinda adapters you'd need. That might work, unless the guy working is a moron, in which case, ask someone else.

wow. first of all you need all kinds of power inverters. hooking up the cd player wont be hard at all, but you will ned the wire harness converted into a stereo out cable (somehow).
anyhow, let us know how it goes. interesting
