What were you banned for?

I suspect no one's answered you because this is on very sketchy territory and is probably against forum rules.

I would be easier if we knew what kind of site it was...

Try a proxy (proxy.org).

This Question has been asked before. You don't happen to have more then one name here do you?

Anyway the way you get back onto a site that you have been banned from is to contact a moderator or even better Administrator at that site and request that they unban you. Other then that I honestly feel the question should go unanswered.

Thats why i said it would be helpful to know the site, if its a forum then i'd say you should talk to the admin of the forum. But if its some other site then you could try a proxy.

its a forum yes. i got banned like i said before because i had more than 1 screen name on the site and i did not know that you could not do that. that is why.
thanks boarding
i dont really know much about computers that why im asking.

unplug your modem for 30-60 seconds and plug it in again
your ISP should assign you an new IP address, thus avoiding the IP ban

if they banned your username, then tough luck

That doesnt work if you have a static IP that never changes.

you could just buy a new computer.......this should give you a new ip address. its not very cost effective though, and i know that i would never do that to get back onto a forum. just a thought.:)

The IP address is assigned by the modem, not the computer.

well, i use the same modem for my new system as i did for my laptop and they have different ip's at least to the best of my knowledge.

but if you are correct, that could be the answer........buy a new modem

EDIT: sorry, i just now comprehended your post. i replaced "by" with "to"

Your probably thinking of the LAN IP, every computer has a different one, but all the computers on your LAN are hooked up to your modem, which has an IP address. If you really want to change your IP call up your ISP and ask them to change it for you.

yeah i have 3 computers and they are hooked to a router which is hooked to the modem. i already tried unplugging my modem and router. still nothing. i contacted him but no luck so far.

sorry if i am missing something cuz im really tired, but if your modem has an ip address, then wouldnt buying a new modem give you a different ip address? i dont know a lot about it, but is seems logical. i dont have a lan set up for my desktop/laptop, and i am almost sure that they have a different ip. both were connected directly to my modem at differnet times.

Actually, that's more of an ISP thing than a modem thing.

If you haven't figured it out yet, boarding, most forums don't allow multiple accounts. Frankly, I see little reason for doing so in the first place-- it means you are trying something unfriendly and forums are, for the most part, intended to be places where people are friendly to each other.

The solution has been given... contact the people who have the power to reverse the ban and apologize profusely.

Or find someplace else to hang.

I'll bet he got banned from NotebookForums (like me, lol). If the starter of the thread said that, sorry, I didn't read this useless thread.
