Untill I decide what audio card i should buy, i have a question. How do i disable one of my speakers so my video games can go faster. When i play in one headphone the performance is great, but when using my 2 stereo speakers it laggs and its just horrible. So is there anyway to disable one of them? Or if that is not possible, how do i lower the quality of sound for better performance. Thank You!

There must be something else going on, because I cant see there being that big of a difference simply by switching from speakers to headphones. If you only want one speaker to work, then you can just unplug one speaker, but I dont think that would improve performance at all.

Most games allow you to adjust the audio quality in the options page, so look for the audio controls and you should be able to set the quality and/or disable certain features to improve performance.

Well the headphone has only 1 speaker. And the game i am playing has no audio options other than volume. And is there a way to lower quality of sound from system? Also my speakers are connected together so i cant unplug one without having the other working.

Yes a headset with a microphone, how can i get the performance of it on my speakers? How do i lower quality of sound?

ummmm thats strange, but you could try changing the balance in the volume window: start, programmes, accessories, entertainment, volume control.
strange...

I still highly doubt the problem is because of the sound quality, they rarely make that much of a difference. The problem likely could be caused by bad drivers, which make the game lag when it's set to 2.1 instead of the headphone mode (if your card supports it).

Well i am using an onboard audio, but what do you mean, should i switch to headphone mode? right now its on stereo speaker mode.
