How much do you estimate this is worth?

Hiya guys,

I'm hoping to sell my PC soon to buy a Macbook or something because I am a music producer/DJ and to start playing gigs/parties I already have all my gear, but I need a mac laptop. I was wondering if you could tell me how much you think my PC is worth because I don't want to put it up for too little or too much, and get scammed or scam someone else. I do remember buying it about 2 years ago being 1000$ alone for the tower (I bought other parts seperately before).

Here are the specs (tell me if you need more)

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+
2.61 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM

Under Device Manager:

computer: ACPI Multiprocessor PC
Display Adapters: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT

Local (c:) disk total size: 465GB

There is one problem with the computer so I'm guessing the person would need to buy a copy of XP because I don't remember where my disc is. Whenever I start up my PC it says "Invalid boot.ini file, booting from Windows" or something around those lines. I'm guessing that's the problem because it bluescreens a few times a day (some days aren't so bad) but being a producer this is really annoying. Also by the way if you have suggestions on how to fix I would be forever grateful).

If you need any info ask :)

Thanks in advance!
Cheers :)

My estimate is $250-$350. Not much, as it's all pretty outdated hardware.

how do people always loose keys (bottom right of second pic) i've never lost a key in my life, and i have a 10year old compaq, and i don't think that is that old.

but yeah, that sounds about right voyager, people on ebay pay out the but if it looks cool, and that's in a nice case and most people know nothing about cpu's so they'll think 5000+ means super fast or something, could prob get a good chunk on ebay.

Wow, I'm lost here.. 250-350 :/.. it makes no sense because 2years ago I bought the tower alone for 900-1000. It runs any game perfect aswell. Guess I'll keep it then :/

Haha thats funny :p they have LED lights too so it does look pretty cool. I just think I was the one that got pretty ripped off. It makes no sense to me because I bought it from a professional shop who made it custom. I remember buying just the tower for nearly 1000, and when I wanted to buy it I told him I wanted to be able to run any game perfect without lag and I am able to to this date which makes no sense for 250-350. I think I'm going to contact the shop actually because if it drops over 500 dollars in 2 years that sucks and I'm definitely not selling for under 500 :p

well it is used, and the tech moves forward pretty fast, but for 2 years old that was sort of dated then too i think, not too sure about when those are from but i'm pretty sure they're older than 2 years ago, and not worth 1k back then

IMO that case is complete garbage.

I work in a computer shop. Our nearest competitor does that to customers all the time. I've seen custom machines their customers have purchased from them and spend $1000+. The parts are probably only a total of $500, if not less. Major ripoff.

Wow, thank you for the helpful information.. and I will not be going to shops anymore I don't think. Crazy.. thank you for the information and thank you everybody :)

building your own is best, and sites like ibuypower and cyberpower and dell does it to all let you customize your own rig, but you know the price is reasonable, not great but god enough normally, because they have to compete with other people in the market, but never go with alienware, you're paying out the a$$ for the name and a cool case, a similar setup from one of the others (not dell, they own alinware) will prob cost considerably less.
