how bad do i need anti virus? "downloadable one for now"

i dont have any anti virrus on the computer im typing on right now, the one that i just built and its exiting!

anyway, can i just go to microsoft and they will give me a free one for now?

i plan on getting that 80$ norton
 
dont' waste your money on norton. I think it's garbage. All you need, just like the other member said is the avg free addition. I would also recommned getting the adaware from download.com and hijackthis from merijn.org. That's all you'll ever need to keep your computer clean.

Personally, buying Norton antivirus software is a waste of money.

i personally would stay away from norton, ive been told that there are quite afew problems with it detecting new threats, myself i use trend and have never had a virus slip through.

my 2 cents

beside you never have to pay for anything anymore... **cough** limewire

I am not a believer in it myself. I just saw the ratings and saw where norton was on the list. But I am a strong believer that the free stuff is the best stuff. :D
 
mmm, we have the expensive one and it seems to work

i already downloaded addware, 90days of norton, some other spyware killing machines

i think im good.

ill use that AVG one
