Hi,

Just wondering if any one could help - we are having problems with our hotmail account. It is very, very slow and will not allow you to open your mail. Is this happening to any one else? or does anyone know how we can fix this?
We are not the smartest peple to operate a computer!!!

Hi, welcome to the forum. First, what speed is your internet? If you don't know, go to www.speedtest.net and run the test. post the result here. If you want an accurate reading don't be downloading anything while the test is on.

Second, I would use the following free programs to see if they make any difference:

CCleaner
Auslogics Disk Defrag
MalwareBytes

:)

Thanks its nice to be here!!

I ran the test and the results are below
Download - 1.32mb
Upload - 0.22
Ping - 57

Hoipe thats what you meant??
I think we are suppose to be on a 1500 speed???

The hotmail thing has just started happening over the last couple of weeks.. Our computer is probably being a bit slower overall though.

Cheers.

Hi!
Are other sites acting slow too, or is it just hotmail? If it's just hotmail, it's safe to say hotmail is having its own issues. To my extent of hotmail usage over 5 years or so, its speed is not so stable.

Your download is 1.32mb = 1320kbps, which pretty much is near your 1500 plan. I advise you to run CCleaner, as linkin has stated. Whilst using that program, make sure you untick boxes like 'Saved passwords' etc, to make sure CCleaner doesn't delete that.

Again, if it's just hotmail thats acting up, it would relate to its own internal server problems. But since you said its been acting up since 2 weeks, I might say to clean your computer up a bit... Try CCleaner and let us know the results :D

Okay - So I have run both the Auslogics defrag & the CCleaner.. So we will
just have to wait & see.

I am now starting to think though it could just be Hotmail itself.

Thanks so much for your help so far... dont worry I will be back :P

hmm... my hotmail takes a while to load now... go figure. although once it loads the first page it's alright.
