Hosting FTP server on WindowXp?

HOw do u host a Ftp server on windowxp ?

2 ways. Either install the windows FTP server by going to add windows components in the add/remove programs wizard. It's burried in IIS. You basicly point it to a folder on your machine, set up permissions and away you go.

You can also download a FTP client that will do about the same thing.

having a FTP client doesn't set up a FTP server, it just allowed to to connect via FTP to other servers...

Maybe I should have said "server" instead of "client" Regardless the windows FTP server will work and there are 3rd party (some free) programs that are FTP servers.

i installed that windows FTP server thing, but i cant find any applications for it, and it didnt tell me where my root was or what any login information was, would it just be easier to download a free one.
