Since they are powered speakers, you can't really use them with a receiver in the normal fashion. They are designed for use with a computer's sound card, so unless you have a blu-ray player or receiver with discreet line-outs (not amplified outputs), you will only be able to hook them up for stereo sound. You can get a stereo RCA to female 1/8" mini jack adapter to get stereo out from any of those sources that provide it.
