Home Theater to Cable box..

Im trying to hook up the home theater to the ATT cable box so it can use the dolby sorround on the cable box.. I havent been able to find a way to do so. Help anyone ?

i dont know a huge amount about dolby sound encoding etc, but the most likely way to do it is to use an optical audio cable, which both devices have. secondly, both devices have HDMI, which i believe can run audio. i have never tried this, but its worth a shot. i have no idea how to enable DDS between two devices, so dont even ask. perhaps another CFer would know.

Yes HDMI can run audio (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) That would be my suggestion.

The Dvd player only has one HDMI and its being used on the HDTV
