Hello, i have two computers, both of them have Ethernet cards, and they are both connected to the SAME ROUTER, how can i create a Home network to make the files on one computer acesible in the other computer, i would really appreciate the help, thank you all in advance, oh BTW, both computers have Windows XP, one has PRO the other one has HOME. thanks.

Go to Start>My computer. On the left side, under "Other Places" it should say "My Network Places". Click on it. On the left hand side, under "Network Tasks", click "Set up a home or small office network". Press next twice, click other, click next, click the first option ("this computer connects to the internet directly or through..."), next, name the computer whatever you want, click next, name the network whatever you want, but make sure you make the same network name for both computers, then next, then click "just finish the wizard" and then click finish.
Do this for both computers.
To view the other computer, click on "view workgroup computers".
To make a shared folder (each computer can only see the other computers shared folders), right click on a folder, click properties, click sharing (at the top), and in the second box, check "Share this folder."

Hope that helps

It helped alot thanks, now i have another problem, when i go to "my workgroup computers" i can see both my computers but i can't access the other one, if i'm on computer "A" i can't open computer "B" it says i don't have permission, and when i configure a folder to be shared i can't access that folder in the other computer.

haha, I'm having the same problem with my network. I have three computers. Computer A can access Computer B, and vice versa. Computer A and B can see computer C, but when either click on it, it says they do not have permission. When Computer C clicks "My workgroup computers", it says it does not have permission.
All three computers are WinXP Home.
Can anyone help us?
