high pitch noise from ne speakers connected what is problem?

my speakers make a constant high pitch sound which ocassionally goes, they also crackle from time to time when playing music or playing games, i put the sound through my monitor and found the same problem is it my sound card? it is onboard aswell so does that mean i need a new mother board :eek:
 
I dont think its the motherboard thats the problem. Maybe its an old motherboard and could use a new one. But all you should have to do is pick up a sound card, theyre really cheap and then it may solve the problem.
 
Are your electrical plugs all grounded (wall outlet has ground plugs...3 prong?) I still have the screaming and windy crackling despite getting a sound card. I thought integrated sound was the problem.....then I realized the equipment isn't grounded.....and my speakers are over 2 years old....but....Boston Speakers? :confused:
 
well all the plugs r fine and it is a brand new computer, i had to have the graphics card replaced as it was breaking the monitors so maybe this has a problem to, is it possible it is interference?
