Hide Icons

Hi, in Win98SE, is ther any way to hide desktop icons, like in XP you uncheck "show desktop icons", and they disappear, any way to do this in win 98. Or just shove everything into a folder and store it off screen slightly?

Anyone?

mm im not familiar with windows 98SE.. so tell me if you have this option.. for the icons on the desktop, can you change the icon picture? by like right clicking? if so, post back.. there is a trick u can try..

LOL, you can make all the desktop icons [Hidden] and then disable viewing of hidden files\folders

if you want the ones like my computer, recycle bin, etc. hidden then i don't think 98 lets you do that. check the start menu properties. if you cant find anything there don't bother looking much farther.

Right, i saw that registry one but dont want to do taht one because its permanent, and i want to view the sometimes.

I found a way to do it, just for the record ill let you guys know in case anyone else wants to know:

Right clikc on desktop
PROPERTIES
Effects tab
Check - Hide icons while viewing desktop as a web page
Go to WEB tab
Check - View my desktop as a web page

BINGO, no icons, unless i go and turn off actve desktop, which is easy to do.
