hi Guys,
I am planning to buy a desktop pc to work on photoshop cs5. i want to learn some designing like Dvd covers that are made in photoshop plus website and logo designing too, Hope you all caught the things up.
So i need some advice from you people, which system i should buy that will do my job efficiently and effectively.

I am planning to buy
1. INTEL DUAL CORE E5400 2.7Ghz (2MB CACHE - 800Mhz FSB)
2. ASUS (INTEL) P5QPL-AM G41-ICH7 1333FSB (motherboard)
3. SEAGATE 250GB 3.5" HDD 7200RPM 8MB Cache (ST-3250318AS)
4. KINGSTON (SODIMM) DDRII 2GB-800
5. 9500GT GeForce PCX 512MB (128-BITS) DDRII INNO3D

Please recommend me that i should buy this one r to go with the another (which one).

Advices and suggestion are highly appreciated.
regards.

from my experience, photo editing is quite processor intensive and not so much graphics intensive

I'd look for a quad core processor, even if you dont go with the new intel i5/i7 series you'd still be fine with a Core series quad.

this is a pretty nice quad core i5

**keep in mind thats a different CPU socket and requires DDR3 RAM**

Core 2 series quad:

your mobo seems nice. Id look for more RAM- CS5 is a bit intensive at times id suggest 4GB+ (make sure you OS is 64bit) also-DDR2 is cheap-ish now that DDR3 is out, so it shouldnt be too much more. Look for a higher clock speed too

I currently use these on my linux set-up

Id pick a bigger HDD, but thats me. I can fill up a 250 with raw photos easy.... Good choice with a 7200 RPM. You may consider getting an SSD for your OS and for installing CS5 on. I'm a speed junkie though, I hate waiting for stuff to load, so I find value in that

Graphics wise... for the price. Id go with a 1GB card, just for future-proofing. And Im more of an ATI fan myself
your price range ATI:

Some of this may mayyyyy be a bit over-kill of course, depending how much time you want to invest into photo editing will determine the benefit to you

Best of luck! Hope this helps

Welcome to CF.

Its an okay build,But Outdated.

Whats your max budget and do you need an Operating system?

And do you intend to do any gaming on it whatsoever or is it for just the usual Internet/CS an stufff like that?
