About a week ago I updated the cpu in my box, from a 1.8 ghz to a 3.16 ghz (intel c2d)
plus a new cooler master hyper 212 plus, and added 2 extra gigs of ram ( 4 total now, g skill). Before the upgrades things worked fine I just needed extra umph for my games, but now when I boot up it wont load up windows 7 at the first try I have to reboot 2 or 3 times before windows appears, Im at lost don't have an idea what can be going on.
Does anybody else has had this problem before?
Can some one help, plz, thank you.
mobo: GA-965p-DS3 gigabyte
cpu: intel 3.16ghz c2d
ram: 4gig Gskill
hd: samsung 640 gigs
psu: 550 wtts.
vid card: nvidia 8800gts
os: vista home prem. 32 :confused:
 
Rev.1.0 doesnt support it.

Rev. 2.0 does with bios F13, but you have to overclock the FSB.

Rev. 3.3 does with bios F13 and F14, but its non official support
 
download speccy or cpuz and find out which rev you have (if you don't know off hand)

Maybe go into bios and manually set the fsb, the motherboard will think you're "overclocking" the fsb but it will be running the chip at its native speeds
