hello. i just got a new computer a few months ago. it was costum build by the company i bought it from. my problem is i'm a musician and the main reason i bought the computer was for recording. but i failed to mention this when buying... dumb move i know. well anyway i just have one question really. if i'm recording and the sounds that i'm recording continually cut out; is it the soundcard's problem? or is it something else wrong with my computer. also midi files like some metronomes (the one in adobe audition) and some drum machine midi files play very glitchy.

driver properties

SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio

Driver Provider: AnalogDevices

Driver Date: 10/5/2005

Driver Version: 5.10.1.4151

Digital Signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher

i wish the date was 2007. i hope this is enough information. please help me. wheather i should just buy a new one or if there is something i have to do.

Overall systtem specifications would be needed. The information you posted there is only information for the onboard sound's driver version seeing the date it was released.

For recording at a professional level you will also want to consult the company that prebuilt the system for you rather then seeing someone pointing you at a good sound card. Besides hardwares that also involves softwares as well.

There you would look over what was ordered when the system was custom built for you or using a free information tool you can download from http://www.gtopala.com/

The System Info for Windows(SIW) tool there simply runs without creating any new values in the system registry. You will probably have to browse to where you save the file and irght to create a desktop shortcut while simply double clicking on the executable will see the system scanned and all hardware and software information made available. The column on the left side will catagorize each type.
