HELP! WMP54G instalation question! Urgent!

Hi,

I installed the WMP54G with the LinkSys CD, it told me it was going to turn off the computer, I installed the card, ok it's booted up now. The wireless monitor won't respond to Refresh or Connect buttons, in the Find available networks menu. With the WUSB54G I had the same problem but all I did was go into Device Manager and find it, then click Update Drivers. Well for the WMP54G I can't find it in the Device Manager and I looked through every catogary. What do I dio?

Okay, the power light (*ACT* light) doesn't turn on but I'm sure I have plugged it in hard enough. Do I have a defective product?

First try re-seating the card. Take it out and put it back in firmly and then check the device manager and see if it shows up.

I'd also check and see if Linksys has an updated driver on their site, I'm sure they do . Uninstall the device and then reinstall it once the updated driver (if any) has been installed successfully. This might entail taking the card out and then installing the driver, then putting it back in again.

ACT stands for Acknowledgment which is used when a connection is established. If it is not lit up, that doesn't mean the product is defective.

If none of this works, I'd take it back and get another.

Hello,
Oh, thanks for clearing up the ACT light thing. I should try downloading the updated driver (I'm writing this through the WUSB54G adapter) , installing it, then installing the WMP54G right?
