A few months ago i made a web video which would play back fine through windows media player and i stored this in my archives. Recentley i recorded another web video but did not save it as i saw it would save over my previous video as it was automatically going to save it under that file name. For some reason however the old video file refused to play after that and even though is the exact same size file it now tells me it was modified on the date when i recorded but did not save the second video. When i attempt to open the file in windows media player now it says the file is either corrupt or WMP cannot support the format..... basically is this video salvageable or not does anyone have any advice or tips??

Thanks in advance.

Did you start recording? WMP is kinda crappy like taht, it probably corrupted the file just due to your partial save that day. In the future I would recommend saving it, and then changing the file name once you are done recording the video.

Yes i did start recording I just didnt save it when I stopped and realised it was using the default name of my previous file. The odd thing is that the file did not change in size it just says that its been modified. So do i right this one off??

Yeah, more than likely, the process had already begun. So, WMP started to modify it and then now you have half one video and half of another in the same file.
