Help with specific type of files

Hello,
On the past, I have download music files which end like this: .ape and I convertered them to .wav (for my compact disc).
Yesterday, I download from the same website and, to my surprise, there were (in the folder):
.CUE (file 1 - KB)
.APE (file - 190,074 KB)

I don't know what to do.
It should be a disc, with 4-5 parts.

Thanks,
Adiel. F

.CUE stands for (Cue Sheet)

These files contain textual descriptions of virtual disk images used by several CD/DVD burning packages. They are information files about the file...make sense?

Basically....what I am getting out of this...you are maybe downloading illegal content. If this was a legitimate file from a legitimate company, you would not have this issue. Where exactly are you downloading this from anyway?

We have rules that are strictly enforced about certain things:D I am not accusing you of downloading illegal stuff...just from my past experience anyway...I have seen these files before and they more than likely came from torrents and such. A friend of mine came over once with like 200 of these files he grabbed from a torrent thinking he was all cool for snagging a bunch of free stuff.

Gotta keep the forum clean and free of temptations:)

****EDIT****

There could be other uses for these files I am not aware of and somebody please correct me if I am wrong. Like I said before...I have seen these a couple times and they always came from illegal downloads.

If you make an image file yourself for whatever reason, self programming a game or application for example, you may want to make a .cue file aswell if you are running the prgrammed stuff from your system and installing from there too without burning or whatever.

Other than that yea, what you said is right, they are only used on illegal stuff so people can bypass needing the disc and just mount the image straight off
