Hi

I had to reformat my hard drive and reinstall windows xp. On restarting I do not get any sound. It is an old desktop now and I went to packard bell support site for driver but the machine does not show. I contacted the support team and they do not do the driver anymore.

I decided to open up the tower to look at the sound card only to find there isn't one, it seems they have an integrated one on the motherboard.

Just wondered if there is any way to get a driver or if it is best to just buy a pci sound card. I'd rather install a driver if possible.

Thanks

Ron

To get drivers for old Packard Bell computers is near impossible as you only have the UK site which does not support old PC's.
Advise to you is disable audio in your bios settings and install a sound card which would be simple cost effective solution.

look in device manager and report the Device ID for it. We can find the driver with that.
