help with a creative 5.1....anyone?!

hello. i have a creative inspire p850 system...and i can`t make it work...all the cables are where they are supposed to be ( orange to orange...etc)...but only the front speakers and the sub work. central and back are dead. i went in the speakers configuration menu and selected the 5.1 option, and then did a test (from that menu)...and they all work, but only here. in every other program/game I tried...only the front and sub work...where is the problem?! by the way...i`m using windows 7 rc
 
Check your sound card. It might only be 2 channel, in which case you cant get 5.1, unless there is a matrix mode for your speakers.
 
well...since they work in the test...isn`t it logical that it`s a 5.1 soundcard? any other ideas?
