Help-winpc antivirus

Hello-I read the moderators instructions to run hijackthis and malewarebyte-however, I cannot even open either of these programs no matter what i rename them-they just stall out and go no further-I have downloaded and del;eted them numerous times with absolutly no luck-is there any help to get rid of this program-called winpc antivirus? I have stopped the pop ups in proccess's but it still misdirects me and will not allow me to run or install maleware or hijack this. XP --Please help!

Here is what I recommend doing in this order.

Download and run combofix, get it here and post the log back here that it displays.

If combofix will not run as well then you need to take the hard drive out and slave it to another machine and run a full virus scan on it, which I recommend AVG free edition or something comparable like avast or avira, I don't trust norton or mcafee. The virus scanner should pick up a few things, which one of them is the culprit not letting programs run. Once the scan is done and you've either deleted the infections or quarantined them, put the hard drive back in the original system and then try running malwarebytes and combofix to get your system clean again. I've had to do this same procedure to a few computers that just won't run anything due to a bad infection. Post back with your results.

Thanks for the info but ya it still wont let me install that program so im still at a loss-due to my location help is very hard to find-any other ideas? Thanks!

Read the post by Johnb completely, take the drive out and install as a slave to another machine, and run a scan on it. Or you can try running it in safe mode;)

OK I fixed it by installing Malewarebyte directly onto a thumb drive and then running it from there-just renamed the exe file and it started like a charm. Thanks for everyones assistance.
 
Now post a hijackthis log for us to go through and see is your system is still infected.
