I am trying to record my xbox 360 gameplay!

Okay, so I have three of these and a RCA Cable. what i did was i took my xbox cable and plugged it into one of the female ports and took one end of the rca cable and plugged it into the other. I then plugged the male end into the TV. Like This. I then do that for the rest of the colors and and plug the other end of the RCA Cable and plug it into my TV Tuner on my computer. Like This. Is this supposed to be able to work, and is there a program anyone knows of to capture this? Windows Media Center only allows TV recording and not RCA or some shit like that. PLEASE HELP!

Computer Specs(IDK if you need or not...)

Yeah, that should work. Can you confirm it works without the Y-splitters? I assume you're getting the signal to the TV but not the computer? Does it work connected directly to the computer (with or without the splitters in the middle?)

Im a little confused, i dont have any idea how to acces my tv tuner. that is what this thread is about. I have it plugged in, but dont even know how to get the signal up, and the y splitters are needed or else i dont have a clue on how to play on TV and plug it into my computer. So does anyone have a clue on how to use a TV Tuner?????

EDIT:
Oh yes, the xbox works without the Y splitters in, i just dont know how to use a TV Tuner.

I think i have it hooked up right, but dont have a clue on how to do the rest...

Sounds like the problem's not the connection but your software (or settings :P) To eliminate all other factors, plug the Xbox directly into the computer. Now without knowing exactly what software you're using, we can't make many suggestions as to where you need to go. However, you should see something about input. Normally capture cards have two inputs (one for RCA, one for SVHS, sometimes 4 if you have a front set of inputs). Once you get the software configured correctly, leave it running and add in the splittesr and cables for the TV. You should continue to get the signal to the computer at this point.

see thats the thing, i dont know what software to use!!!

i might be missing a driver or something because my computer died and the guy wiped it and updated it to windows 7 and im not sure if he installed the TV Tuner Card driver. the specs dont say what kind of tv tuner card it is so i dont know what driver to look for...

Can you please guide me through how to do this? I have no experience at all with TV Tuners.

Sorry for double post but i really need this... I spent so much money at radio shack(40$) for the 20 feet of the RCA cable and the 3 splitters...

I downloaded that, restarted my computer and i still have no clue how to get the picture up and everything through my RCA ports. God this is really making me frustrated, almost to the point of tears.

Does it not have any software that's loaded along with it? Can you tell if the drivers are at least loaded (check under device manager).

If nothing else, maybe you could use Windows Movie Maker (blah) or Windows Media Center (blah) :P

for some reason, i dont even have windows movie maker... IDk if its just windows 7, but i dont have it. And in media center, where do I go? I see Extras, Pictures + Videos, Movies, Music, TV, Tasks.

when you installed the software open it up through the programs menu, in there go to settings there should be an input button change the input to whatever you have the 360 plugged into.
