im friggin 16 years old
and my parents always take the modem with them whenever im home alone and before they go to sleep (they hide it well)
total BS

i was wondering, is there anyway to access the internet without a modem?
and of there isnt, is there any like houshold thing i could use as a modem?

What kind of connection do you have? You could just unplug a phone and use a phone line for a dial-up connection... but that'd be really slow and take a few minutes to set up. If you have a cable connection, you could just plug your computer into the ethernet cord that plugs into the modem I think... I don't remember if that works anymore... DSL i don't know.

I'm sure they have there reasons.
 
I agree with Chaplain - buy a wifi usb plugin. You should be able to see many networks that you can connect to unless of course you live out in the sticks - then you might struggle to find someone to link to.
 
When I was 10 my mommy would take my power cord away every night and all I had to do was replace it with the printer power cord. One day when I was yelling into BF2 VOIP she came in and got very mad.

Maybe you should buy a wireless network adapter. A kid in my school who is in 8th grade has a laptop, and he showed me how he connected to a Starbucks network from across the street.
