Help Please - no sound

Hi,

My sound was working perfectly two days ago and now there is no sound:-

Keeps saying " nosupported audio device available" and

the volume control does not work - " no active mixer devices available" and

when launching itunes " itunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/video playback may not operate correctly" and

in the control panel (sounds and audio devices) the areas do not allow me to make volume adjustments...they are greyed out:-

can you please help.

You'll probably want to re-install the drivers that came with the machine. You should have them on the resource CD.

Hi, Tried that still not working..........Still no luck..... when I try to download the aduio driver an error message appears saying:- "setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this set up program." Also when I try to launch the console launcher (creative volume control) it says:- "There is no supported audio device available" A similar message appears when i click the audio console in Control Panel. I have re-installed creative / sound blaster X-Fi.

Computer model:- Dell DM051 ( on the font of my CPU is says Dimension 5150 ). Current configuration says:- Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device. Original says:- SOUND CARD SOUND BLASTER X-FI XTREME MUS. I have re-installed X-Fi extreme but does not seem to be showing.

call customer support sounds like a faulty product u can send it back for a replacement if its coverd under warrenty

yeah sounds like a faulty soundcard, try plugging the speakers into the onboard?
