I CAN CONNECT TO INTERNET...

IF YOU CONNECT THE LAN CABLE to the PORT it says connection is enabled but why can't i surf the web? IT SAYS DNS Error...WHAT IS WRONG?

Hey,

you will need to make sure that the connection is set to automatic DNS configuration:

1: Get here from the Network Connections section in the Control Panel

2: Then enable the automatic options. If they are already enabled, you may need to manually enter the required IP (provided by ISP)

I did that...it allows connection enable (compared to limited or no connectivity sign)...but there is no internet connection~!

How exactly do yo want to connect to the net? Network, ADSL modem or what? Have you changed anything recently?

no just bought a new system...and i am putting it together...I think i am connected through via Lan (but i have modem in the corner of the room that is always on.)

Do you have a router in between your computer and the modem? Have you configured the PPoe?

pppoe broadband connection is non-existent even for this labtop i am using to get help...I only have Local Area Connection set up...but only desktop is having trouble

You have to "create a new connection" under network manager. Just run through the step by step setup.
